Platoon Studio

Formerly Mark Ronson's "Zelig Studios" the Platoon Studio is a  first class recording space based at Tileyard Studios in Kings Cross.

It has an enviable tech spec that has been used by many of the greats. The centrepiece of the studio is a vintage 42 channel MCI JH-500 desk, but there’s also a great selection of outboard gear including the Manley Massive Passive and Vari-Mu and a Chandler TG1 Compressor/Limiter, the exact replica of what was used in the vintage EMI Consoles at Abbey Road.

With a beautiful vintage EMT Plate reverb and the new Bricasti M7 digital reverb, it hits the perfect sweet spot of vintage and modern.

The studio is equipped with a superb range of mics including Neumann U67s, classic for piano, drums and vocal recordings and countless studio grade microphones with a Flea 47, the faithful recreation of the sought after Neumann U47. Tape machines include The Scully, previously homed in Memphis where Elvis recorded and The Studer A800 used in Uptown Funk. The speaker system setup consists of a pair of ATC SCM200SL, ATC SCM25 and NS1’s.
Instruments including a 1890 Steinway Upright Piano and guitars and basses from Gibson, Taylor and Fender are housed in the live room.

Artist recorded in the studio include;
Mark Ronson, Adele, Sampha, Dan Auerbach (Black Keys), Royal Blood, Paloma Faith, Lily Allen, Nile Rodgers, Duran Duran, Lady Gaga, Liam Gallagher, Jorja Smith, Boy George, Daniel Merriweather, GUM, YEBBA
